West Town condo burglarized, thief steals diapers


1050 W. Hubbard St.
Around 8:51 p.m., someone reported an attempted burglary in Chicago's West Town neighborhood.

The 911 caller said a man tried to break into a condo on the 1000 block of West Hubbard Street.

Approximately 30 minutes later, at 9:39 p.m., police confirmed that a unit at 1050 West Hubbard Street was broken into.

An eyewitness described the thief as a male Hispanic in his 40s with short, salt and pepper hair.

The tipster said the offender is approximately 6'2" and 200 pounds.

Police said the crook stole luggage and a pack of diapers.

The burglar was last seen going westbound on Hubbard Street.

  2. According to the maps that I consulted, it's West Town. Ukrainian Village is farther west.
