Over the past few days, two people, on two separate occasions, told police they saw the man who is wanted for a crime involving a child in Rogers Park.
On September 26, 2011, at 6:50 a.m., a man blew his horn and motioned for a 12-year-old girl to get into his vehicle, said police.
The incident occurred while the girl was waiting at a bus stop on the 7000 block of North Damen Avenue, said authorities.
The offender was described as a 45 to 55-year-old white male with brown and gray hair, blue eyes, glasses, and a beard and a mustache.
Investigators said the suspect also has freckles on his face.
The offender was last seen driving an older model vehicle; possibly a red Toyota or a Nissan four-door.
On October 15, 2011, around 1:49 a.m., someone dialed 911 after potentially spotting the suspect on the 7700 block of North Marshfield Avenue.
The tipster said a man matching the offender's description was seen in the area wearing a blue windbreaker and driving a red pickup truck.
Police ran the vehicle's license plate.
The plate is registered to a 2003 Chevy pick up truck and belongs to a man who lives in Evanston, Illinois.
On October 16, 2011, at approximately 1:01 a.m., another possible sighting was reported on the 7500 block of North Paulina Street.
A 911-caller said a bearded white male wanted for "rape and sex crimes against children" was in the area.
The caller said the offender was wearing a blue windbreaker and jeans.
