Woman’s purse reportedly snatched on Chicago’s North Side

A woman’s purse was allegedly stolen near the Rogers Park, Edgewater Glen border, around 2 a.m.

The alleged crime occurred near the intersection of Devon and Lakewood Avenues, said police.

A 911 caller heard the woman screaming for help on 6400 block of North Wayne Avenue, two blocks away from Devon and Lakewood.

According to the purported victim, a thin, bald, black man, wearing dark-colored pants, snatched her purse.

When police arrived at Devon and Lakewood, the alleged victim wasn’t there.

Officers eventually located the complainant on the 6200 block of North Sheridan Road, parked in a vehicle, with her hazard lights on.

Police said the woman did not want to file a report.

However, due to alleged “emotional issues”, she was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital for treatment.
