Shooting on 79th and Wood may be related to shooting on 80th and Emerald
Saturday, April 2, 2011, around 10 p.m., someone was shot on the 8000 block of South Emerald Avenue on Chicago’s South Side. Approximately three hours later, two more people, several blocks away, were seriously wounded by gunfire.
At 1:30 p.m., two people were shot on the 7900 block of South Wood Street.
Information obtained by Chicago News Report indicates one of the shooting victims was possibly shot in the face.
Police identified one of the victims as Damian Williams. Initially, Williams was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, but he was later transferred to Christ Hospital’s trauma center.
Investigators said the shooting on 80th and Emerald and the shooting on 79th and Wood, appeared to be related.
