Around 9 p.m., a stranger with blood on him, asked a citizen in Rogers Park to call police.
The injured man told the passerby that he had been stabbed in the hand at 1630 West Chase Avenue.
The offender, who may be known to the victim, was described as a man with a light complexion, wearing a blue Tom Brady Jersey.
The suspect was last seen walking eastbound on Chase towards Ashland.
Authorities later determined that the victim had not been stabbed.
He cut his finger fighting with the suspect over drug money, said police.
The so-called victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In an unrelated incident, at approximately 8:43 p.m., police tased a man at 7731 North Sheridan Road.
According to one witness, the man was extremely combative and even spat on several police officers.
The offender was taken to St. Francis Hospital for medical treatment.
Because the man allegedly spat on police, medical providers tested the suspect for infectious diseases.
Shackles were brought to the hospital to restrain the arrestee.
