After multiple 911 callers reported gunshots in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, police performed an exhaustive search for the shooter.
The calls rolled in around fifteen minutes past midnight.
Citizens heard gunfire on the 900 block of West Sunnyside, Sunnyside and Clarendon, and Hazel and Windsor.
Some of the people who heard the shots said it sounded like they came from the park. Others said the shots were fired closer to Sheridan Road.
One 911 caller claimed a man was shot and lying on the ground at 830 West Sunnyside. Police and paramedics searched the area, but never found a victim.
At 12:24 a.m., investigators spoke with a witness who saw a male white or Hispanic shooter dressed in a white t-shirt in the area of Sheridan and Windsor.
Shortly after 1 a.m., police arrested a white or Hispanic man wearing a "white fur coat" at 4605 North Sheridan Road.
Investigators also recovered a gun from a dumpster in a alley behind the 900 block of Windsor Avenue.
No injuries were reported.

Glad this ghetto thug is off the streets BUT for how long? The justice system needs to start getting on the side of the innocent victims of this city and put these criminals away for longer than a month or two. "Time off for good behavior" shouldn't even be in the prison systems regulations. They do the crime they SHOULD do the TIME! F#&K good behavior. Ghetto thugs don't have a clue what that means.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dumb-ass... how many people are wearing a white fur coat?! Lol.. to bad all these bangers weren't this stupid.
ReplyDeletethis all happened outside my 4 year old son's bedroom window. i watched as it all happened. the sad thing is, its not even summer yet and it is already starting. kids fighting over land (street corners) that dont even belong to them. i pay too much money to live in a neighborhood that i am afraid to walk down the street in daylight hours and sleep comfortably in my bed at night without worrying if a stray bullet will come through one of my windows.
ReplyDeleteUptown is the new north side ghetto. This is what's like to live in places like Englewood and Chatham.
ReplyDeleteTired, tired of the "parents" complaining about the safety of their children in Uptown.
ReplyDeleteHere goes......the grandparents of those Uptown "children" need to step in, take those grandchildren out of that ghetto while cramming a granola bar up the
"apparently they ain't parents" too-cool-we're-gonna-change-the-world wannabe hineys.
There outta be a law.
Anonymous@8:10, I don't get your comment but it seems a little obvious that YOU DON'T have children. "Tired, tired of the "parents" complaining about the safety of their children in Uptown." Why in the hell should people have to move because of ghetto thugs? The city and the new Alderman need to start shutting the many many SRO's in Uptown down. The city and the CHA needs to start holding their tenants to the rules and regulation they make tenants sign before they move in, the justice system needs to have tougher laws, the loitering law needs to be changed and there needs to be more cops. Moving is not the answer. Everyone should start bombarding Rahm with emails about the crime in the city and the crime on the CHA to the point it crashes his email. The crowd speaks louder than a few do.
ReplyDeleteTearing down the projects and placing these ghetto thugs in all the neighborhoods in Chicago just so "they" didn't feel segregated was the worst thing Daley did. Now we all suffer from the GHETTO THUGS. "Wherever you go, there you are". Too bad the city didn't consider what would happen to all the neighborhoods when they decided it was the nice thing to do.
This is a pretty interesting read on the Altgeld Gardens, their attitudes there and the tenants continuing to scam the city, it's taxpayers and the CHA. This is exactly what's happening on the North side/Uptown.

PS people, I am referring ONLY to ghetto thugs!
towanda, I agree 1000%. :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous #1, for many years Chatham was great. Hopefully, Alderman Sawyer can clean it up. :)
Anonymous #2, Ideally what you say is easy, but the sad reality is it's difficult for grandparents to seek custody of their grandchildren. :(
ReplyDeleteRudy, I think I have said this before, but I knew a lot of well-established people who lived in Chatham in the 80's. These people had some of the most beautiful homes and apartments I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteWhen the crack epidemic hit Chicago, Chatham and South Shore were nearly destroyed. Most of the people I knew who lived in that area, fled to the suburbs or downtown.
