Brooklyn, New York -- Anyone who takes public transportation, especially in New York or Chicago, knows that if you want to arrive at your destination in one piece, mind your business.
A white female commuter and two black women got into a verbal confrontation, then an actual fight, because one of the black women was eating on the subway train. A video of the showdown was posted on Youtube on March 17, 2011; so, I'm assuming the incident took place around that time.
Here's how the drama started.
While one of the African-American women involved in the confrontation was shoveling spaghetti into her mouth, a white woman sitting across the aisle, called her an animal. "What kind of animal eats on the train like that?", said the white woman.
"What kind of fat bitch looks like you?" snapped one of the black women.
Because of the rumbling of the train, part of the verbal confrontation is inaudible.
When the two African-American women get out of their seats, presumably to exit the train, a black man sitting on the same side of the aisle as the white woman, engages the black women and tries to calm them down. "Relax," he says, over the roar of the train.
But before tempers can cool, the white woman jumps out of her seat and gets in the spaghetti-eating black woman's face.
Despite the fact that she got our of her seat, and approached one of the black women, the white woman repeatedly tells the black woman to get out of her face. Then, the white woman appears to shove the black woman. The other black woman tells the white woman not to touch her friend.
Band-bing-bada-boom! The fight is on!
The white woman and the black woman who was holding a container of spaghetti, began clawing at one another and pulling each others' hair. The spaghetti-eating black woman loses her food and her baseball cap in the brawl; and the white woman's glasses are knocked off her face and she is struck several times in the head - by both black women.
The same black man who tried to calm women down before the fight, steps between the biracial brawlers, and gets scratched in the process.
Once the white woman realizes she has bitten off more than she can chew, she cowers in her seat, covering her head with both hands - while the black, male peacekeeper and another commuter, hold the two black women at bay.
Folks, this is some of the most unbelievable footage I have ever seen!
Who was right, and who was wrong? You be the judge!
Eating spaghetti on the train..Really? Come on! White woman should have kept her mouth shut. What was it hurting other than this wasn't an Italian restaurant. Black women, who, in my opinion, are frightening and think they're toughies, should have ignored the comments from the white woman and been the bigger person..fat chance of that, BUT the white woman should not have said anything to them. Get up an tell the conductor or something. What did she think..she had to know a fight was coming when she made a comment. Stupid is as stupid does.

They cut the state budget for services for the mentally ill and nearly every time I take the Red Line there is somebody unbalanced on there trying to pick fights with people, it is getting more and more disturbing to ride the CTA.
ReplyDeleteCP, funny you should mention that. Someone just reported a suspicious man on the Red Line. The man appears to be mentally ill and is pacing back and forth in a very aggressive manner.
ReplyDeleteTowanda, I received an email from someone who claims they were on the train when this mess started. According to the tipster, the woman was eating Chinese food - not spaghetti. LOL!
