The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. on the 800 block of East 46th Street, near the Henry W. McGee Post Office at 4601 South Cottage Grove Avenue and the Engine Company 45 fire station.
A twenty-something-year-old man, who was shot in the head, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said another man also struck by gunfire and one man was injured when he was hit by a car.
The surviving gunshot victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition. The man who was struck by the car, is said to be in good condition.
On September 20, 2010, just steps away from today’s shooting, two men were shot in front of the Shore Bank at 4659 S. Cottage Grove Avenue.
In 2009, a 79-year-old man was shot in the face after leaving a Popeye's Chicken restaurant at 818 East 47th Street; which is around the corner from where the other shootings occurred.
Can ANYONE tell me why these ghetto thugs are so hateful towards their culture?

Any drive by shooting is a cowardly crime and against our culture, regardless of the situation, and because it's a black on black drive-by, it is a ghetto way of thinking and against Black culture. Regardless of the situation, drive-by shootings are not condoned. They are not the way to handle a dispute.
