Gunshots awaken residents in West Rogers Park

Around 4:36 a.m., gunshots were fired on the 6100 block of North Damen Avenue near the corner of Damen and Hood, in Chicago’s West Rogers Park/West Ridge neighborhood.

A witness heard someone yell, “Get ‘em!” The order was immediately followed by several gunshots.

Three men in a gray or silver van, were seen fleeing the scene southbound on Damen, towards Peterson Avenue.

It isn’t clear if anyone was injured during the shooting.

I was unable to confirm if any arrests were made.

  1. I have been hearing that there is a drug war going on between black and Latino gangs in Rogers Park. Has anyone else heard about this?
