A brazen robbery occurred near the intersection of North Glenwood and West Albion Avenues in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
The crime occurred around 7:35 p.m.
Police said the victim’s path was cut off or blocked by two cars: a black Toyota Camry and a black Malibu.
The suspect in the black Malibu pulled a sawed-off shotgun on the victim, while the driver of the Camry stole the victim’s wedding ring, necklace, and several hundreds of dollars from the victim's pocket.
One of the offenders was described as a Hispanic man with shoulder length hair and approximately 6’2”. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
After the robbery, both cars went southbound on Glenwood, then eastbound on West Loyola Avenue.

WOW! Now they're using cars to gang up on us? We seem to be sitting ducks out there. Do thugs have a life other than crime..never mind, I know the answer already.
ReplyDeletehere's what we're up against out there;
Guns
knives
bats
pepper spray
cars to "corral" us
broken bottles
2x4's
fists
and I'm sure more can be added.
Is it my imagination or is it worse out there than a year ago?
Having access to a scanner and other sources is a good thing, but sometimes it feels like a curse. The more I know, the more concerned I become.
ReplyDeleteI hate to sound like a broken record, but I remember when could walk all over Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Uptown, and Edgewater WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD!
Now you need bulletproof underwear just to walk out the door in Uptown. It's frightening, sad, and disgusting.
"bulletproof underwear"...LMAO! Where can I buy some?
ReplyDeleteAt least, even though this isn't a funny time, at least we can TRY and find some humor or we'll all be hermits!
Timothy, I remember when I felt the same way about most of Austin.
ReplyDeleteSpencer's Gifts sells edible underwear. Maybe, they'll sell bulletproof underwear too. :)
Rudy, I'm not real familiar with the Austin neighborhood. I knew people who lived there in the early 80's. Back then, the area seem to have a quiet suburban feel. At least that's the way I remember it.
