Bernard Williams Charged With Murdering Officer David Blake

18-year-old Bernard Williams has been framed charged with the murder of off-duty cop, David Blake. Police said Williams wanted to steal Blake's gun collection; which Blake obviously kept in his SUV (sarcasm alert).

Sources say Blake and Williams "lived together" for a while, and Williams lured Blake to the secluded alley on the 2900 block of West Siepp Street - where he allegedly shot and killed the SWAT team member on November 22, 2010.

I'm sorry. I'm not buying this story at all. This scenario does not explain why Blake was murdered across the street from a cop who claimed he didn't know Blake, but received or sent Blake a text. And now all of a sudden, the media wants to talk about Blake's "girlfriend". Whatever....

  2. The cops need to close this case quickly. They are under tremendous pleasure and they want people to stop poking around this story. The arrested suspect is a sacrificial lamb.

  4. This arrest is bogus.

  5. MAYBE THE DUDE THEY ARRESTED STOLE BLAKE'S KEYS AND WENT BACK TO HIS CRIB TO STEAL HIS GUNS. MAYBE THAT'S HOW THE POLICE CAUGHT BERNARD WILLIAMS.

  7. CPD has spun a nice fairy tale. This kid is getting framed. How come these two were off in a wooded area discussing anything? How come a girlfriend has appeared from nowhere? This is some BS and I don't see how these people sleep at night.

  9. HERE'S WHAT CBS NEWS IS SAYING:

His gun and wallet were found at the scene, which originally led police to believe robbery was not a motive. A cigarette was still in the mouth of the 45-year old police officer when his body was found.

“The suspect allegedly returned to Blake’s house to retrieve Blake’s gun collection, but was unable to get inside Blake’s house because the police were already there,” the source added.

The suspect’s 25-year-old sister was a friend of Blake’s and the person who introduced the suspect to Blake. Phone records and an extensive probe of Blake’s personal relationships led to the suspect’s arrest, the Sun-Times was told.

The suspect reportedly told friends interviewed by police he had shot Blake and confessed to the crime late Wednesday.

He “provided them with a confession,” the source said.

The friends were brought before a Cook County grand jury on Wednesday, the source said.

“The case developed very quickly Wednesday after more than a month of extensive investigations by gang crimes units, homicide detectives and evidence technicians,” a source said.

Blake, who had served on the SWAT team for five years, was buried quietly and privately at the request of family members, the Sun-Times was told. “They did so to honor the memory of his mother, who had passed away,” the source added.

  10. IF THE DUDE WANTED BLAKES GUNS WHY NOT JUST MEET HIM AT THE HOUSE WERE THE GUNS WERE STORED? WHY MEET ACROSS THE STREET FROM OFFICER THEODORE BROWNING'S HOUSE? WHY TAKE THE TIME TO STICK A CIGARETTE IN HIS MOUTH? THIS SHIT DON'T FIT.

  11. His house keys were the only thing missing from his vehicle at the time of the shooting. Blake had several heavy weapons at his home but police from his unit were on the scene and went immediately to his home to secure it.

  12. All the details weren't released to the public, they never are. The police knew about the woman the first night but the investigation still had to run it's course from a variety of angles. Covering this up really was never an option. But arresting a cop without completing the investigation wasn't an option either no matter who believed it. It's not what you believe it's what you can prove. The case had to be presented to the state's attorney and approved by that office.

  14. Blog entry from another site: DSLC
His Down Lo sex got him killed asshole. So we should all be proud of his actions? I was part of this investigation and you do not want me to start talking about what this guy was into and the sick shit that was going on.

So let it die. A man sucking a dick or taking one up his ass isn't normal. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of what was going on and with who. Sorry if your son is doing the same shit too.

  15. I hardly think "FITZ IS A FUCKING IDIOT" he gets his INFO from sources and doesn't have to "make" up conspiracy theories, they abound EVERYWHERE, I have to say, as a ordinary citizen, this story doesn't sound to likely to me either. Sounds fishy, sounds like a cover up, which we KNOW the police do..sometimes. There are bad cops out there and good cops. Those of you jumping all over Timothy Fitz are forgetting that this is a blog, you don't HAVE to read it, he has his opinion as you do yours, and there is that little thing called Free Speech that everybody screams all the time. He's writing it as he's given the info from sources BESIDES the media. If you don't like what you read here, don't read it. This isn't a Disney site..Food for thought!

  16. More of the case will be presented in court later today, in court. As bad as locking up another officer would have been, the detectives involved were willing to do it. But without forensics..... And only circumstantial evidence...

  17. I'm sure the defense for 18 year old Mr. Williams will be along the lines of Blake, a 45 year old openly gay (as noted by blogger's post featuring screen shot of Blake's facebook page) 15 year veteran of the police department made sexual advances towards Williams at which time Williams felt afraid and shot his perpetrator. It's the ole tried and true "gay panic" defense. 75% of the time it works.

Now since Williams was 18 at the time, there is a good chance Blake had possibly "known" him prior to his 18th birthday thus adding another angle the defense can make which is statutory rape of a minor. Since Blake is dead and many rape and molestation cases pit his word against his word (see the recent Norte Dame rape case for example in reverse) it would more likely than not convince a jury of reasonable doubt and thus giving the "gay panic" defense a little more footing and a lesser manslaughter charge. Williams gets time served and the case is closed and nobody is truly hurt, except Blake of course.

  18. I'm not so sure that the so called gay panic defense works when there is no sign of a struggle, Officer Blake was shot in the back of the head 5 maybe six times with a weapon the offender had in his possession, text messages indicate the offender lured the victim to the scene, the offender got in and out of the vehicle a few times indicating there was no fear and the theft of the victims house keys. In addition, friends and family of the offender testified before the grand jury this week and came back with an indictment.

  19. I would not say it was "gay panic" but this could be used as a defense once his defense team analyzes all the facts in the case. If he was in fact killing Officer Blake to get his keys to steal his guns any good defense lawyer is going to try to deflect the facts away from any reality and paint a very different picture where the perpetrator appears to be the victim.

I am sure we will not know the true story of what really happened and I'm sure we will forget all about this as any trial or plea deal is hammered out. We will have already moved onto the next big story or scandal coming down the pipe. Sad really, I wish we could have the patience to follow through and really understand what happened but the local establishment media is either too lazy or they have come to conclusion that we just do not care anymore.

I graciously accept that title on behalf of all the little idiots like you.

  21. I was just wondering why didn't he take Blake's gun at the scene if guns were the motive of the killing, and also why didn't he just kill him at home since he knew Blake so well. Blake being a SWAT officer probably had several weapons in his home. How would the offender transport these weapons, on the bus.
