Around 1:49 a.m., a man was shot at 1241 West 81st Street in Chicago's Gresham neighborhood. According to an officer on the scene, the victim was shot in the leg.
The shooting victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He is listed in critical condition.
Authorities said the shooter is an African-American man who was last seen wearing a black and white plaid shirt and a doo-rag on his head. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a white four-door sedan. The offender was armed with a black handgun.
Police collected blood evidence at 1241 West 81st Street and shell casing were found at 1245 West 81st Street.
