A Chicago, Austin man was shot during an ambush at an apartment building on the 5600 block of West Ohio Street. The shooting occurred around 7:29 p.m.
The gunman, who waited for the victim in the hallway, shot the man in the left hand and in the upper right chest area. At the time of this report, a bullet was still lodged in the man's man.
The shooting victim’s sister drove him to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital.
According to an officer on the scene, the man was in good condition. However, according to West Suburban Medical Center, the man is in serious condition.
A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.
