At 5:14 a.m., a Chicago police officer noticed the glass door of a Mexican restaurant on the 1900 block of West Lawrence Ave., was broken. The address belongs to Erick’s Tacos, 1967 W. Lawrence Ave., in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood.
A few blocks south, on the 4700 block of North Damen Ave., the story was pretty much the same.
The Shanghai Inn, a Chinese restaurant at 4723 N. Damen Ave., had its glass door smashed in, as well.
According to police, they believe the same man is responsible for a string of restaurant burglaries in the area.
