Jamie Thelen: Woman Killed by CTA Red Line Train in Edgewater

FEATURED STORY  On October 19, 2010, around 11 a.m., CTA officials were notified that a woman was struck by a CTA, Red Line train on Chicago's north side.

The horrific incident occurred at the Berwyn station at 1121 W. Berwyn Ave., in Edgewater.

The decedent has been identified as 33-year-old Jamie Thelen of the 800 block of West Diversey Parkway. Officials say she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Some Edgewater residents have described the Berwyn "L" platform as dangerously narrow.

On August 30, 2010, a man was hit by a CTA train at the same station. He was also killed.
