This morning, around 7:02 a.m., a school official reported an alleged sexual assaulted near the intersection of South Western Ave. and West Madison Ave.
As more details became available, we learned that the victim, who was described as a “little girl“, was reportedly sexually assaulted in an alley, behind the Walgreens at 2340 W. Madison Ave.
The girl told a school employee that a man wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, brandished a gun and forced her to pull her pants down.
At 7:21 a.m., an officer checked the alley behind the Walgreens and didn’t find anyone matching the offender’s description.
To protect the identity and the safety of the girl, we have decided not to name the school that reported this incident.
