6:05 a.m. -- Police were called to the 900 block of West Sunnyside Ave., in Uptown, after a man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. Police records indicate authorities removed the suspect from the property yesterday, and asked him not to return.

Before police arrived, the assailant fled the scene through a back door.

The offender was described as a Hispanic man, 5’8”, wearing a gray tank top and brown pants.

He was last seen running southbound on Sheridan Rd. towards Montrose. Police say he might have ran inside Jewel, a nearby grocery store.
