Brunswick, Georgia -- Sherry West, the mother of slain 13-months-old Antonio Santiago, has no misgivings about who murdered her precious son.
According to various news reports, on Thursday, March 21, 2013, West was returning home from the post office when she was approached by two black teens.
The older suspect, later identified as 17-year-old De’Marquis Elkins, reportedly demanded money from West.
When West said she didn't have any money, Elkins allegedly threatened to shoot her baby... who was sleeping in a stroller at the time.
After asking for money several times, Elkins shot the innocent 13-months-old toddler in the face, said investigators.
Along with Elkins, a 14-year-old suspect was also taken into custody.
Citing multiple news sources, Elkins' family members claim he wasn't at the crime scene when a heartless savage shot and killed little Antonio.
Elkins' family said he isn't capable of hurting a child.

Every time there is a white defendant and a black victim, the white person is automatically guilty in the black community and innocent with whites. I wish it wasn't this way; I wish we didn't have a president who interjects himself into cases like the Zimmerman case before it's ever tried. I wish we didn't have a media which continued throughout the case to publish pictures of Zimmerman as he is now and Martin as a cute 12-year-old instead of the 6-2 football player with tats all over his face and a gold grill. I wish Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (refuse to call either of them Rev.) would keep their yaps shut and let the legal system do its job. When the police and local prosecutor say they don't have enough evidence to try somebody, that should be the end of it. And now that the jury has ruled, the black community is begging the feds to come in and convict him anyhow -- of something!!! Zimmerman got a fair trial, with a jury agreed to by the prosecution, and he was acquited. Case closed.
