Chicago Man Beaten After Alleged, Attempted Sexual Assault of 16-year-old Boy

At 8:50 p.m., police were informed that a man was being attacked by 20 people on the 4500 block of South Lavergne Ave., in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood.
Subsequent 911 calls indicated that the attack was related to an alleged, attempted sexual assault.
Apparently, a 19-year-old man made sexual advances toward a 16-year-old boy. When word spread in the community, a mob formed and attacked the 19-year-old suspect.
According to what the 19-year-old told police, he was beaten with garbage cans and had his shirt ripped off his body.
A police dispatcher referred to the incident as "street justice".
