Citing preliminary reports, white smoke was seen pouring from a 3rd floor apartment at 1145 West Morse Avenue, around 6:50 p.m.
According to police dispatch, a resident knocked on the door where the fire apparently started, but there was no answer.
Subsequent information suggested the tenant in the burning unit suffers from mental illness.
Upon entry, officials discovered burning paper inside the third floor apartment.
At the time of this report, it appears there were no injuries or displacements.
If more details unfold, this article will be updated, accordingly.
