6 women robbed in Hyde Park

In the span of about an hour, a total of six women were robbed in Chicago's South Side, Hyde Park neighborhood.

According to information provided by the University of Chicago Police Department, the robberies occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 10, 2012.

The first incident happened around 2:40 a.m., between the 5300 and 5400 block of South Dorchester Avenue. 

A man approached two women on the street, implied he had a weapon, and stole their property, said police.

About an hour later and a few blocks south, four more women were robbed in a similar fashion.

Citing police records, the second robbery occurred around 3:55 a.m. on East 52nd Street, between South Kimbark and Woodlawn Avenues.

Again, a male offender implied he had a weapon and stole women's property, said police.

At the time of this report, the mugger was still at large.
