Most of the argument is unintelligible, but in the beginning of the video you can hear a woman sitting toward the front of the bus say, "I'm telling him my son 6. He talkin' 'bout, 'Come on! Let's be real!'. I'm like, ask my son. He gon' lie to you, too?"
When the driver allegedly told the woman to "shut up", her head nearly exploded!
"I tried to be nice," screamed the irate passenger. "I'm done being nice! F*ck you!", she continued.
According to YouTube user DetonatorYellow, this incident happened Thursday, December 8, 2011, around 3:47 p.m., on a #51 CTA bus.
The bus was near the 47th Street Red Line station when the argument started.
These bus drivers have the worst job in this city. They have to drive in these shitty neighborhoods and deal with these lying, stealing, and cheating cretins. Would hate to be a bus driver in Chicago.

I could see his eyes in the mirror and kept wondering why he was constantly looking down/left when his eyes should be on the road. Littering too! I just reported him this a.m.

I see shit like this all the time - I can't tell you how many times I'll be at a bus stop in the loop & some ghetto schfartze is telling her kids, "Now remember, you 6 years old, not 8" before boarding the bus.
ReplyDeleteI really hate the crap the homeless pull, they wait until everyone else is on the bus, then they get on last, and pretend to fumble for change, or start putting expired CTA card after expired card into the reader, in order to get a free ride for a couple of stops before the driver kicks them off.
The bus was empty. I have three kids and I can't tell with other people's kids who is 5,6,7 or 8 somtimes. They don't have ID.

ReplyDeleteI understand that the customer may have told a lie about the child's age but the bus operator should have been more professional. Several events like this arise all the time. Times are getting dangerous and that situation could have escalated into something else. The bus operator didn’t just put his job and himself in jeopardy, while driving the bus and yelling at this customer, He could of put the lives of those customers in jeopardy as well. While operating that vehicle, The bus operator focus should of been on driving that bus and not the concern of that customer's child whether he's 6 years of age or not. He have to also remember no money is being taken out his pocket anyway!!

ReplyDeleteI try to be respectful and to not cause any problems. I know this job must suck but sometimes they take it out on the wrong people. The bus cost two dollars and twenty five cents. I had three dollars and was willing to pay but the bus driver refused to accept extra money and kicked me off the bus when it was still dark outside on my way to school. Another time a bus driver made racist comments to Asian passengers on the bus because he was having a bad day and even started a fight.
