At approximately 6:04 a.m., someone reported a black man in all black clothing standing near the intersection of Lawrence and Winthrop waving a gun.
When a responding officer arrived at the scene, the officer said the suspect was with a group of family and friends who were mourning the death of 20-year-old Edward Clark, who was shot in the head at 4752 North Winthrop Avenue.
The officer at the scene said the suspect, along with the group, was moving southbound on Winthrop Avenue.
At 6:08 a.m., another 911 caller reported people crying near Lawrence and Winthrop.
At 6:14 a.m., a third 911 call indicated four male blacks were loitering near the crime scene and being disruptive.
As of 6:35 a.m., it appeared the situation was temporarily diffused, but we're sure there will be more gunfire before the end of the day.
Keep the black on the south side, and at least give us civilized humans one safe place in the city to live. They eliminated the projects, and low and behold all the roaches have scattered to all parts of the city and brought their crime with them. The blacks need to be quarantined.

I wish these people would fall victim to these black animals and see if they still practice what they preach. Oh and the guy quoting MLK, I assume MLK wanted equality to mean other races have to live in fear of blacks....I don't think so. Even blacks don't like ghetto blacks. For example the government has bought buildings specifically for section8 and have some landlords have contracts with the CHA to keep their buildings at very low englewwod prices even if the neighborhood does gentrify.

Many are elderly, legitimately disabled, and/or low-income good people in need of safe affordable housing.

ReplyDeleteBlacks commit a statistically higher, disproportionate share of crimes though they only compose 12% of the U.S. population. So don't let facts interfere with your opinions.
Most of those crimes committed are black-on-black crimes, yet it remains extremely difficult to engage many black communities in substantive crime prevention practices including cooperating with law enforcement authorities.
So while intra-racial crime is bad, inter-racial crime is perceived as more egregious and of a predatory nature.
Many reasons for this but no public leaders, public or private, are constructively engaged in responding to these crime issues. It's not racist to recognize the obvious.
Section 8 is not,in itself,a predictor of crime.
However, uneducated, underemployed/unemployed, angry illiterate, anti-social, prejudiced/biased, racist people with a sense of entitlement are ill-equipped for society and may be "profiled" as being crime-prone.
Nature or nurture for violence? Both! There is a genetic basis for anti-social violence.

It's foolishly naive to embrace classroom optimism when it's entirely different on real-world streets.
When you break down the numbers, you'll find that blacks are 900% (9 times) more likely to commit violent crime, Period.

ReplyDeleteRacial profiling distorts crime statistics because of course people of a certain race will be seen as more likely to commit a crime if they are already more likely to be viewed as criminals--and therefore more likely to be stopped by police, arrested, and convicted than people of another race. Duh.
