Around 12:43 a.m., police responded to a robbery call on the 4900 block of North Winthrop Avenue.
When officers arrived, the injured victim was waiting in the lobby.
According to police dispatch reports, the victim was struck in the face and was in a lot of pain.
Investigators said several unknown offenders attacked the victim on the street in front of Lawrence House at 1020 West Lawrence Avenue.
The assailants took the victim’s cell phone and close to $200, said a responding officer.
It appears the robbery victim was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

For 10 hours a day lurking in the lobby, JJ peppers or the Pharmacy/front door area, there's a old lady version of Ginger Spice, a overweight older black woman who wears a thong and dirty sweatpants, a wheelchair bound old white woman (who can actually walk) and her really short black boyfriend who rides a stolen bike up and down that section of Lawrence, yelling "Payback!!" "Payback!!"
ReplyDeleteAnd the Trib reports the panhandler that knocked the 20 teeth out of that womans head in the S. Loop for not giving him a cigarette in 2008 did his time and now lives at 900 W. Lawrence and recently threatened to KILL a guy that didn't have any money to give him while walking from the El.

every day there are shootings and this shit on that same stretch of winthrop. not to mention every other part of uptown. why don't the cops just SIT THERE 24/7. that would save them a lot of time instead of driving back and forth.
