Citizen calls cops on firemen asking for Christmas donations?

Apparently, you can’t trust anyone these days - including firemen trying to do a good deed.

According to police dispatch, a weary Chicagoan dialed 911 after spotting several men asking for money at the intersection of North State Street and West Van Buren Street, around 6 p.m.

The concerned citizen reportedly said the men were wearing Santa hats and posing as firemen.

A responding officer verified that the men were indeed firefighters.

“I guess this person didn’t see the Chicago Fire Department van that dropped them ,” said the investigating officer.

Well… you can’t be too careful these days.

  2. Panhandlers in disguise are of all shapes, sizes and colors EVERYWHERE in this city. How many times have we heard that "police and fireman DO NOT solicit donations via phone"? Fireman soliciting "donations" in THIS economy?! WHERE are the "donations" going? I need addresses, names and income statements.

Did they have a "vendor license"?

And yes, Lateisha, most likely they were White. Black men are "ascared" of fire, heights.....and water.

  4. Man I fucking HATE the bucket boys. Besides taking up space on the sidewalk & producing that horrible racket, they have their boys pick people's pockets & cut women's purses off their shoulders as people are distracted & watch them play.

I would rather listen to that crazy preacher who stands in front of Old Navy on State Street all day & tells passerbyers why they're going to hell, than hear that racket from the bucket boys.

  5. That crazy Jeebus shouter by Old Navy actually came up to me while I was walking by and started screaming in my face. I thought it was going to get physically ugly, but he refrained from grabbing me and I was able to walk away. That sucker is disturbed.
