Man brutally attacked near Lakeview neighborhood gas station


A man was viciously assaulted near a North Side gas station, said police.

The attack occurred Sunday, around 12:50 a.m. at 1154 West Diversey Parkway near the Shell gas station.

When police arrived, they found the injured man bleeding on the street.

The victim’s head was “cracked open”, said an officer at the scene.

The offenders were described as a group of male Hispanics, who fled the scene in a small, black four-door car.

The getaway vehicle was last seen going eastbound on Diversey.

No further details are available.
