Lincoln Park: Police arrest Wrightwood Avenue burglar


Within a 3-day span, two armed robberies were reported on Wrightwood Avenue.

Tonight, a burglary was reported on the same street.

According to investigators, a home on the 1000 block of West Wrightwood Avenue in Lincoln Park, was broken into around 9:48 p.m.

Apparently, the homeowner was present when the burglary occurred.

The suspect was described as a white male with a bald head.

He was last seen going southbound on North Seminary Avenue, said police.

At 10:33 p.m., officers stopped a possible suspect in an alley behind 1480 West Webster Avenue.

According to an officer on the scene, the suspect had several items wrapped in a sheet or a blanket.

The offender was taken back to the 1000 block of West Wrightwood, where he was positively identified as the burglar and placed under arrest.

Excellent job officers! Bravo!
