West Rogers Park: Man attacked, robbed by ‘Latin Kings’
A man was attacked by a group of alleged gang members on Chicago’s North Side, said police.
At 11:10 p.m., a citizen reported a man screaming for help in an alley behind the 2200 block of West Arthur Avenue in West Rogers Park.
The victim was “jumped” by ten to fifteen Hispanic men armed with guns, whom he identified as Latin Kings, said police.
According to the complainant, the incident occurred in an alley near Western and Arthur Avenues.
It isn’t clear if the man was injured.
Police said the thieves stole the victim’s cell phone.
After the assault and robbery, the offenders fled the area on foot.

Now, Anonymous @ 3:30 pm I don't know who you are....but I could not have said it better myself. WHOMP! WHOMP!! :) You are soo right! They ARE a bunch of kitty kats!!...#sorry, but I AM a lady. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in 1st grade, this one girl, Loretta Swift, (NEVER forgot her! lol) used to kick my tail/chase me home every other day until one day I fell and scraped my knee. I had never told my parents about the fights. (Why? Probably because I knew the outcome, which is to follow..*sigh*) In any case, on this particular day, I ran home to my Dad thinking because I was his ONLY baby girl, he would "kiss and make it all better." Boy, was I WRONG!!! *o*
At first, he was like, "Oh noooo!! What happened, sugar baby?" Then, I told him that I fell running home from Loretta. He was like, "WHAT?!" And proceeded to march my little tail, scraped knee and all, right back down the street! He told me if I did not fight her back, he was going to get a switch off that backyard tree and tan my legs. *WOWSA!* And, you best believe, I did AND I WON! LOL...TRUE STORY!
Her mother was out there, my father was there and so was half the block and all of our siblings. And NO ONE jumped in. After it was all over, Loretta's mother simply said, "That's what you get. I bet you will leave her alone now, now won't you?"
The point is: childhood "dust-ups" taught you character, strength, how to defend yourself, perseverance and COURAGE. There was no "retaliation" or anything like that. It did NOT evolve into 15 to 1 fights/beat-downs and it damn sure did not evolve into shootings or death. What is wrong with these kids???!!!
"Towanda" said it best when she said would give all of this modern technology and yada, yada, yada back to have just a smidgen of the "good old days." Well, I have to say I would too....I would even throw in all my piggy bank money AND my marble and rock collection. *sigh*
NOOOOO! Not the marbles:(
ReplyDelete"What is wrong with these kids???!!!...you know full well what's wrong with these kids MissBee...it's called parents. Seems the kids are running the household now-a-days. I said this before, you should be teaching a class on parenting. I'll bet it would be mobbed because it's obvious that some parents now days are "parents" in name only.
