Francis Cardinal George says Rev. Michael Pfleger is a 'victim of his own statements'
If Pfleger a (p)liar?
Rev. Michael Pfleger may be shocked by his suspension, but the contents of a recently published letter written by Francis Cardinal George, are raising even more eyebrows. The stern, but friendly correspondence seems to indicate Pfleger may have an issue with telling the truth.
Based on what's been said in the press, Pfleger allegedly accused Francis Cardinal George of trying to "remove" him from St. Sabina Church - an act that is only carried out when priests sexually abuse a child or steal from the church. But the Cardinal's letter reveals that Pfleger reportedly expressed interest in leaving the church.
"Several Times in recent years you have told me that you do not want to remain as Pastor of Saint Sabina Parish for the length of your Priestly ministry in the Church," said the Cardinal's letter.
The Cardinal closed the letter by saying that Pfleger is not a victim of anyone or anything, other than his own comments.
It looks like the player just got played.

Aha! BUSTED! This guy is a legend in his own mind. I'm sorry but I'm going to believe the Cardinal over him any day. It's too bad for his parishioners though, because he has been there a very long time and change sucks sometimes. Who knows they may end up being better off without him. Maybe he was just too afraid to deal with the ghetto thugs in the schools, where, sadly, he might have had a bigger impact.
ReplyDeleteIf what the Cardinal said is true, I wonder why Pfleger would lie to his beloved flock. This reminds me of that scene in the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy looks behind the curtain. :-)
