Sunday, around 11:26 p.m., police were notified after several men were spotted loitering in a North Side parking garage.

Two to three African-American suspects, one wearing a cream-colored hooded sweatshirt, were seen roaming through the parking garage next to FFC Halsted Street (Fitness Formula Clubs) at 3228 North Halsted.

When police arrived at the scene, they spotted the offenders inside the garage and ordered them to stop - the suspects took off on foot.

At 11:45 p.m., two men, one wearing a cream-colored sweatshirt, were detained by police at the Belmont Red Line “L” station at 945 West Belmont Avenue.

Stolen items were strewn about the floor of the public parking garage and several car windows were broken, said police. The suspects dropped the items while attempting to escape from authorities, said officials.

Two suspects were arrested.

  1. This is across the street from the Halsted bus turnaround right next to Charlies. Sad that the only job these ghetto thugs have or know how to do is commit crimes...and have NO remorse about doing it.
