Attempted robbery on CTA Brown Line in Lakeview

Several African-American teenage boys were involved in an attempted robbery on CTA’s Brown Line, said authorities.

The crime was reported around 6:42 p.m. and occurred on a southbound train as it pulled into the Southport "L" station at 3411 North Southport Avenue.

Apparently, the thieves intended victim, exited the train at Southport and called police. The young criminals continued southbound on the Brown Line train.

The offenders were wearing dark-colored clothing.

  1. If you take the train, be observant of your surrounding, pay attention, because when you take the train, you become a sitting duck for these thugs.
