Police are looking for a “petite” suspect with a big appetite for crime.
Early this morning, around 3:24 a.m., a woman was maced and robbed in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.
The crime occurred at 655 West Melrose Street, in the middle of the block.
The victim was approached by an African-American suspect who sprayed her in the face with a chemical substance and snatched her black leather purse containing an Oklahoma driver's license.
Police described the offender as 5’3” and very petite. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, and light-colored jeans.
After the assault and robbery, the mugger fled the scene westbound on Melrose Street towards North Halsted Street.
