Taggers Vandalize CTA Trains at Several Rogers Park “L” Stations

Multiple 911 callers reported four men defacing CTA trains with spray paint, as the cars rode by several Rogers Park "L" stations.  Apparently, the men were standing on the “L” platforms tagging the trains as they pulled in and out of the stations.

The criminal defacement of property occurred at the following CTA Red Line stops:

  • The Loyola train station at 1200 West Loyola Avenue.
  • The Morse train station at 1358 West Morse Avenue.
  • The Jarvis train station at 1523 West Jarvis Avenue.

The crime at the Morse station was reported around 8:25 p.m.

Police described the offenders are four white men. One suspect was wearing a tan jacket and the other men were wearing black hoodies.

  1. These guys are no better than thugs. I wonder why someone did not take a picture with their fancy cell phone? Cell phone cameras are a great assist to the police. Our eyes on the street for the police. We should be using them for for that as well. not purely for entertainment.

  2. Maybe someone did. Maybe we will see their faces on the news. :-)

  3. Update: It appears that three of the four offenders have been arrested.

  4. Fast work and Kudos to the police and the witnesses! 30 days in jail seems about right, cleaning the train seems about right and a huge fine seems right as well!
