At 1:09 a.m., the Chicago police department was notified that a man riding on the CTA Red Line was armed with a gun and threatening to shoot a passenger.

The passenger, who called 911, said, and I quote, "Help! He is going to shoot me!"

At the time of the 911 call, the passenger and the would-be-shooter were at the 63rd Street, CTA Red Line "L" platform, located at 220 W. 63rd Street.

By the time officers arrived on the scene, the alleged gunman had fled the station eastbound from 63rd Street.

The suspect was described as an African-American male, wearing a white t-shirt and a white hat.

Around the time this incident occurred, a similar 911 call indicated that a CTA passenger in a wheelchair, traveling southbound from 63rd Street, was also carrying a gun.

What is going on?!! Is CTA giving fare reductions to people carrying weapons?!
