Woman attacked on Lakeview lakefront?

A woman was apparently assaulted near the Lakeview, Lincoln Park neighborhood border, on Chicago’s lakefront, according to police dispatch reports.

At approximately 8:37 p.m., someone reported a woman screaming for help near North Lake Shore Drive and West Diversey Parkway.

The 911 caller said the woman was north of the Diversey Driving Range at 141 West Diversey Parkway, near “the weeping willows”.

A responding officer found the woman unconscious and immediately requested an ambulance.

At 8:46 p.m., officers were talking to eyewitnesses and a potential offender.

No further details are available.

UPDATE: Unconfirmed reports suggest the woman was attacked at nearby restroom. Police are currently looking for her glasses.
