Lincoln Park bike thief brings 1 bike, steals 2, says cops

A North Side, Lincoln Park bicycle thief traded in his old bike for two newer models, said police.

Two women’s bikes were stolen from the 1600 block of North Wells Street, near Wells and Concord Lane, around 10:10 p.m.

An eyewitness saw a black man in 40s riding westbound on North Avenue, on one of the stolen bikes, said police.

However, the witness did not see the man take the other bike,  said police.

The bike used in the getaway was described as a white, Bianchi with a red create attached to the handlebars.

Investigators said the crook left his own bike, which was also probably stolen, at the crime scene.

The stolen Bianchi may be similar to the one in the photograph.

More news from this location:

At 10:49 p.m., a 911 caller reported an apparently mentally ill man yelling at pedestrians at the corner of Wells Street and North Avenue.

The suspect was described a tall black male wearing a black cap and a black jacket with white sleeves.

The complainant said the man was "confrontational", according to police dispatch reports.
