Around 8 p.m., a man was mugged on the 50 block of East Chicago Avenue near the intersection of Chicago and Wabash, on the Near North Side.
According to police dispatch, three black male suspects were involved in the robbery.
They took a wallet containing hundreds of dollars and family photos, said police.
At one point during the investigation, police stopped two possible suspects at the Chicago/State Street Red Line station at 800 North State Street.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
At the time of this report, authorities were interviewing witnesses.
Several officers were called to an emergency "meeting" at Chicago and State Street, at 8:50 p.m.
Those cops lined up along State/Chicago Ave. are nothing but an act. They don't even look like a "presence" the way they're chit chatting and joking with each other near the ghetto Micky D's.

If this doesn't stop very soon, you'll have even more bargain basement retailers lining your "magnificent mile" just for the locals.
Once the Magnificent Mile, Gold Coast, Streeterville, and the Near North Side are ruined by gangs and robberies, the rest of the city is good as gone!

ReplyDeleteMy prediction is that this will be squashed very soon. Either by a knife or gun toting citizen who guts or blasts some kid on the #60 bus during rush hour or by the new police chief. I prefer the knife toting random citizen scenario. Once punks know they will be dealt with,rather than reacted to, they will think twice about randomly beating on a stranger.

ReplyDeleteI agree with'Towanda' but i would say also that this is a failure of leadership across the board in EVERY community. These are kids who are acting without fear of consequence. At the core of this leadership it stars with parents period! I was born and raised in CHA BUT my Mom gave me proper guidance and there was zero-tolerance for acting like an idiot.. do not be afraid of these kids, i dont care if you have to bluff show em no fear.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, it starts at home with the parents and good for your Mom for not allowing this type of behavior. She did it right. However, if the parents don't seem to care what their kids are doing, it's pretty tough for other people/organizations to get them on the right track when they go home to apathy and a lack of parental control. If people cannot take care of their children, if they cannot raise them to be productive members of society, if they cannot teach them right from wrong and respect for themselves and humanity, they should NOT bring children into this world.
One particular African American leader is usually all over the news when crap like this is going on, and hmmmm where is he now?

What you are seeing is the result of years of failed liberal/democratic social policies that destroyed the African American family and produced animals with no respect for human life.

Well, it may be "the years of failed liberal/democratic social policies" as you state, however, Welfare and the rest of the handouts were never meant to be permanent programs. It was to give people help during the depression in the 30's, which was included in the New Deal. Just do a search of when welfare began and why and then check out this article below about how and why it has destroyed the black family. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions", as they say. The welfare recipients simply did not or could not get off welfare because they weren't taking personel responsibility. Don't shoot the messenger, this info is coming from a black professor. Read the article before commenting. Also, do a search about "when welfare began" before making comments. It was simply meant as a help aid, not a lifetime of help. People HAVE to take personel responsibilities for their life and their actions. Success doesn't come from being comfortable taking handouts.

i would venture to say that it was not JUST liberal and democratic policies that have destroyed the black family. What about the conservative policies of the war on drugs? or union-busting auto companies that move their facilities overseas, rendering american blue collar workers jobless? those are not liberal / democratic policies.

ReplyDeleteyou're right there as well. I'm just showing one of many things that have caused the failure of the black family and what society is now experiencing from that breakdown. It's a pretty interesting article.
Everything you mentioned has affected EVERYONE, not just the black communities. Still, the other cultures are NOT going around holding the country hostage. Liberal, conservative, republican or democratic policies are not simply the cause of the failure of the black family. Lets add parenting in there as well. How about the attitude of entitlement and the lack of respect? Where is the motivation to succeed if handouts are so freely given? When you are given handouts, it's easy to not work or want to better yourself, after all, what do they have to do to get handouts? Nothing, so why bother? It begins with the PARENTS and is no one else's fault for failure.
All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain?
