1 arrest after robbery in Streeterville

A male suspect was arrested in connection with a robbery in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, said police.

At 6:28 p.m., police were speaking with a robbery victim on the 400 block of East Grand Avenue, near Grand and Peshtigo Court.

Citing preliminary police dispatch reports, the victim’s cell phone was stolen.

Authorities also indicated there was a second victim, whose cell phone was also taken during the robbery.

Police apparently recovered one phone, but the other phone was possibly thrown into the “river”, said a responding officer.

An eyewitness and one of the victims positively identified a man in police custody, as the same man who stole one of the victim’s cell phones.

No further details are available.

UPDATE: Police said the incident started at "Navy Pier" and was reported at 6:09 p.m.

At 6:15 p.m., police engaged the suspect in a foot chase and he was apprehended at approximately 6:20 p.m.

  1. Nice police work!
I'll be a pragmatic realist here and "profile" this crime as a white victim and black offender.
You know, there really is minimal white outrage on these black-on-white crimes all of which should be classified as Hate Crimes.
And the big media outlets and City Hall are downplaying these crimes.

  2. ^ The world knows your "image" is shot. Very affluent suburbs of Detroit (yes, they are richer than yours) are talking to me about this daily.
