North Side: Woman carjacked near Uptown, Edgewater border

A woman was carjacked at gunpoint on Chicago’s North Side, said police.

The vehicular hijacking occurred around 5 a.m. near North Sheridan Road and West Berwyn Avenue, between Edgewater and Uptown, said police.

Investigators said two black males approached the victim and stole her Hertz rental car.

Shortly after police were notified of the crime, the rental car, along with some of the victim’s possessions, was recovered at a secondary location.

However, it appears the suspects are still at large.

  2. I second that! Who woulda thunk this kinda stuff happens when you might be just going for an early morning bike ride or jog before work in that area. Nobody else would tell you (the WHOLE story anyway). Not everyone outside before 6am is stumbling home from a bar "asking for it" ya know.
