Around 6 p.m., authorities located shell casings on the 2200 block of West Pratt Boulevard, between Oakley and Bell Avenues, in the city's West Rogers Park, West Ridge neighborhood.
Although it's unclear how many people were involved in the shooting, at least two males, who apparently fled on foot, were being sought by police.
During their investigation, authorities found two handguns and a hat at the Robert Black Golf Course, 2045 West Pratt Boulevard.
A police evidence technician was called to collect the evidence, which was located about 100 to 200 feet inside the golf course, said police.
At one point, officers were waiting for k-9 units to help search for the offenders.
However, as of 6:35 p.m., it was unclear if the suspects were apprehended.
At the time of this report, detectives were talking to a patient at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.
The detectives wanted to know if the patient could identify an offender involved in a shooting near Pratt and Western.
