Victim robbed in Uptown, suspect arrested in Edgewater

After a man was reportedly mugged in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, police nabbed the alleged suspect in the adjacent Edgewater community.

At 1:56 a.m., a male victim was robbed near the intersection of North Winthrop Avenue and West Winona Street, said police.

The suspect was described as a male black wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black and red shoes.

According to police dispatch, after the alleged robbery, the victim followed the suspect, while giving police updates on the offender’s whereabouts.

At 2:01 a.m., police apprehended the alleged suspect at 5343 North Sheridan Road, in front of Breaker’s Pantry.

    Is the flashing blue light still at Winona/Sheridan? Oh, forget it. Those aren't a deterrent, they're just used to capture the offenders after the fact, right?

    Well, at least the got one by conventional means.
