Teens attack, rob man downtown

Two teenage thugs are wanted for a strong arm robbery in downtown Chicago, said police.

Around 4:08 p.m., a robbery occurred in front of the CTA Blue Line subway entrance near Monroe and Dearborn Streets.

According to police dispatch, two offenders hit a man in the head and took his iPhone.

The goons were described as two male blacks, approximately 16-years-old.

One thief is about 5’4” and the other crook is approximately 6-feet-tall.

At 4:30 p.m., investigators received information that the suspects were on the Red Line at the 55th Street station.

According to one source, there is a place somewhere on 71st Street that buys stolen cell phones.

  1. ...adorned in baggy jeans, hoodies and dreadlocks. At least they gave up the White T's so as not to be gang affiliated.

There's also a "place" on the highly lauded Edgewater Bryn Mawr Historic strip that "buys" stolen cell phones too. Well, actually there's a sign in their window that advertises they "unlock iphones for $15". Right down the steps from the Red Line - how convenient. Hipster wannabe, mushroom/acid laced "artists" up there trying to change the world and force chains out (i.e. Subway) while drooling at Starbucks doorstep (a chain) wouldn't know any better while they complain about crime too!

You people are absolutely hilarious here.

  4. when on the El train or platform, & any people who look suspicious keep the I Phone in your pocket. The assholes can only steal a I Phone if they see you have one!

  5. This is why I leave the city to do my shopping.
Too dangerous to walk around Chicago

  6. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree".

Paddy wagons (plural) parked outside the world renowned Water Place Mall don't do much for "Magnificent Mile" PR.

Shoulda seen 3201 N. Broadway tonight. Hatred of White men. Hatred. Hatred.

    Happy Diversity (Shitcagostyle).

  8. Everybody is going to leave Chicago again, it will become like Detroit, and the Boys in Highland park will land bank for the next 25 years, just like they did last time. Ever been to Chicago and Cicero? There are stores with the shit still in them from 1968! The shitty neighborrhoods that became yuppified were shitty for a reason, and will return so in short time. Think about it? Housing bubble? "Gentrification" of edgy neighborhoods? It only works when the immigration floodgates are wide open (more people=more housing units) and money is lent so cheap that people will mortgage for more than they could rent the place. Dumbasses.

  10. I live on South Chicago, its like about 30 minutes from downtown. Anyway I was heading towards work, which is in downtown, keep in mind that this was on a Saturday morning as I was waiting for a bus. So to get to work I have to catch the 6 and transfer on 67th and Jeffery to get the 14 but as I was waiting for the bus these three guys "Selling" squares were walking among the the crowd that was waiting for the bus. I knew better than to take my phone out but I had to because the bus was taking longer than usual and I had to report in late also I didnt think anything would happen that early in the bus morning. As soon as I hung up the bus approached the stop and it was getting a little bit more crowded when one of the thugs selling squares reached into my pocket and ran away with the two other guys with my cellphone. I guess it does fit the possibility that they might have wanted to sell my phone somewhere on 71st because its only like 4 blocks away. the police didnt help either becasue when I called to make a report it sounded like they could hardly care and when I got my police report they had reported my file under LOST ITEM. I was so mad that these people are getting away with it and the police so called want us to speak up. If they cant help then who can. I find this to be totaly unjust, cellphone owners beware on the south side.

  12. Ryne said, "keep the I Phone in your pocket. The assholes can only steal a I Phone if they see you have one!"

Wrong. They can punch you in the face and go through your pockets, taking whatever you have. They can also walk up to you and stick a gun in your eye and demand that you hand over valuables.

I simply don't get this concept of the victims need to hide their phone.

Before cell phones, did we tell robbery victims that it's their fault for wearing a nice watch?

Do we blame carjacking victims for having a nice set of wheels?

Were cowboys told to hide their horses so bandits wouldn't steal them?

    Ridiculous.

  13. They are in starvation mode - anything goes. Their meal ticket is up next year, and they're doing eveything they can to harm whitey. You know what? The sun will rise after the election and these fucks are going to have to reap what they've sown, and it ain't going to be pretty. The public sector lay-offs will be two fold, and the repubs will put their money back in the market and the private sector will re populate. This term has simply been a failed redistribution effort. Oh yeah, buy a gun, you'll need it.

  16. Johnny Law you are correct. I have a US Marshal for 22yrs and the stats I see & my experience on the street, the thug element looks for the advantage, I am 6'5" 240 pounds I rarely get picked on. I know the majority of I Phones stolen on on the El are when the assholes see them. Now when you talk about getting jumped in the wee hours coming home from your local bar or any other time for that matter now a days, well they will jump anyone that looks a easy mark. Yes 97% of cars that get jacked are because of the type of car is in demand my chop shops & the "re-sellers" of stolen autos. So yes sorry to say if you have a 2010 Audi , BMW or Benz you do have a better chance of getting your car "jacked" then the guy with the 1990 Ford. From your name you must in law enforcement a nod to you brother!

  17. It just a shame, that in my opinion based on experience, your lakefront is basically ruined. Just about anyplace else on this earth, the waterfront properties/areas are for the wealthy. I'm not rich by any means but it seems odd that, on the North side anyway, the rents actually increase the further you move inland from the lakefront (with the exception of some highrises I'm sure). Odd but telling.

The Red Line cutting all along your lakefront is obviously the main problem. Poor, poor planning from the day those tracks were laid.

Only solution here is to shut that Red Line down at 11:00pm - latest. (Or be a hippie wannabe without a pony tail under your bald spot - just an observation).
