Two suspects were apprehended after they allegedly broke into a South Loop neighborhood daycare center, said police.

Around 1:30 a.m., a “theft in progress” was reported on the 1100 block of South Wabash Avenue.

Within seconds, updated information indicated a burglar alarm was activated at A Child’s Space Early Literacy and Learning Center at 1020 South Wabash Avenue, near Wabash and East 11th Street.

The alleged offenders, two male blacks, were seen running westbound on 11th Street from Wabash Avenue, toward Plymouth Court.

Police apprehended one suspect at 901 South Plymouth Court, and the other suspect was caught on the 900 block of South State Street.

During their investigation, authorities recovered a bag from a nearby alley.

  2. Agreed Anon 8:12am, tearing down those projects were the worst thing this city could have done. The projects kept the animals contained.

  3. I think I saw them running across I 94 East at like 12:15AM. I was coming home from the House of Blues seeing Ace Frehley in concert and as I was driving home I approached US Cellular Field/White Sox area and I saw 2 african american men running hard across the highway hurdling the cement barriers and everything. Litterally like 30 seconds later all of the police officers started speeding down I 94 East and I 94 West. I counted 12 police cars. I was thinking it had to be them.

Heard a neighbor in one of the condos was on his balcony, and spoted the idiots, and called the police. he was giving them a play by play of where they were running to. Great job south loop police.
