Cops: Gunshot victim flees 2 hospitals without being treated

Photo of a Trevon Williams listed with the IDOC. He may or may not be the subject identified in this article.

A shooting “victim” walked out of two South Side hospitals after he realized his injuries had been reported to the authorities, said police.

According to a police newsflash, a subject known as Trevon Williams, was shot in his right forearm.

Williams sought medical treatment at Jackson Park Hospital and at The University of Chicago Medical Center, said police.

Authorities said the injured man walked out of both hospitals after medical staff questioned him about his injuries.

Police sent out a newsflash in case Williams seeks medical treatment at a third hospital.

Williams’ last known address is on the 8300 block of South Winchester Avenue in the city’s Auburn-Gresham neighborhood.

  1. Why would he walk out with a gunshot wound? I don't understand is it illegal to be shot in the city of Chicago??

  3. Uh, maybe he doesn't want to be caught 'cuz he shot someone else first? Are you people that naive here? I see the reason for the rampant crime/violence here now though.

Surprised they have any address for him though. Usually they show up for treatment with no name or (5 variations of one), no address, no phone number, no i.d., not 1 of the 13 people waiting for him in the reception area have any idea who he is, he gets treated and leaves. All on your dime.

  4. If you do a google search for "IDOC Inmate Search" (it's the state prison network), then search for last name Williams, you'll learn that this guy is currently on parole for carjacking someone with a gun, and having drugs on him when he was caught.

Also, his status is "absconder," because after spending a whopping 11 months in prison for carjacking someone with a gun(and presumably scarring his victim for life), he hasn't been reporting to his parole officer.

Meaning, besides getting brought in on a parole violation, the cops are certainly going to investigate how he got his gunshot wound - and most certainly, it was obtained during the course of something else illegal.

The good thing here is, if he doesn't get the lead removed from his arm, get the wound treated, and get stitched up properly, he's pretty quickly going to have a nasty, painful infection that will eventually lead to his hospitalization, or death.

  6. Has anyone considered perhaps it was mistaken identity? He could have been turning his life around by going to church, getting his GED ect....

  8. To CNR - NP, glad to help.

There is a similar online database for Cook County & City of Chicago jails, though they are less user friendly (and I cannot remember right now how to get to them).

These databases give info on current inmates, parolees, and people who are in jail awaiting trial on state level charges. So it's not a complete picture (for example, someone who has completed his sentence won't be on there, I believe), however, for someone currently in the state system, it will have his lifetime record - so if someone has had multiple arrests resulting in a stint in the state correctional system, all of those will be in there.

May not be a bad idea to cross-reference some of the perps you report about here against that database, though don't forget to be careful about putting in qualifiers like "so & so may be on probabtion . . . " because there is the risk of multiple people with one name, or in this guy's case, it could be a different person who was shot & going into the hospitals, but giving the staff Trevon's name instead of his own.

Just my $.02. Keep up the good work!

  9. So pretty much at this point black people are just making up names? Next we'll see Dontreevious and Gonhorrhea, maybe even Stoopeedkins and Dickmuh?

  10. Of all the cultures and ethnicity in the world, the black culture seems to know how to scam the rest of us better then any of them and they are the least productive. Too bad those that are productive law abiding taxpaying citizens in the black culture are profiled with the parasitic leeches that are the majority of their culture and a disgrace to the country.
