Near South Side: Man robbed, hit in the head
A man was attacked and robbed in Chicago’s Near South Side neighborhood, said police.
The strong arm robbery occurred around 8:15 p.m. on the 2000 block of South State Street, near State and Cullerton Streets.
Two male blacks approached the victim, hit him in the head, and stole his cell phone, said police.
Both thieves are approximately 5’10” and one crook was wearing a “brown work jacket”.
At 8:17 p.m., authorities stopped five male black subjects on East 21st Street, between Wabash and State Street.
Police arrested four suspects at 8:27 p.m.
However, it’s unclear if the arrests were related to the robbery on State Street.
