VIDEO: Striking housekeeper accuses Hyatt Regency Hotel of forcing injured employees to work, despite pain

Does Francine Jones have a legitimate complainant, or should she and her striking coworkers, be glad they have jobs?

During a September 14, 2011, interview, Jones, a housekeeper and a 20-year employee at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, made several shocking allegations toward her employer.

Not only did Jones accuse the Hyatt Regency of forcing injured housekeepers to work through their pain, she also said the hotel hired doctors who purposely misdiagnose injured employees and send them back to work.

The Hyatt's alleged motive? They don't want to pay workers' compensation, said Jones.

According to Jones, who is a member of Unite Here Local 1, instead of sending injured workers home, where they can fully recover, the Hyatt Regency puts them on light duty.

In July 2011, officials at the Park Hyatt Chicago, 800 North Michigan Avenue, allegedly turned heating lamps on striking workers during a heatwave, reported unitehere1.org.

Unite Here Local 1 called the Hyatt the "worst employer in hotel industry."

  1. Constant drama there. Shut it down. Almost humorous how they turned the heat lamps on them this Summer while they were "picketing".

Just doesn't seem they have an argument. This has been going on for years. CTA hire rejects.
