Armed robbery reported at South Side Jewel-Osco


Police dispatch reported an armed robbery in the parking lot of a South Side grocery store, around 10 p.m.

According to police, the robbery occurred outside the South Shore Jewel-Osco at 7530 South Stony Island Avenue, near Stony Island and East 75th Street.

The thieves, who were armed with a gun, were described as three male blacks, said police. 

Authorities said the offenders fled the scene westbound from the store's parking location.

No further details are available.

    I am quite surprised at all these black male suspects. I notice a lot of black males downtown with the white X-Lg T-shirts and sagging pants. I always assumed they were heading to the office?
