Valparaiso girls, 14 and 16, accused of raping 17-year-old boy

Based on recent allegations, two Valparaiso, Indiana girls aren't made of sugar and spice and everything nice.

According to police, a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl, lured a 17-year-old boy to a home on the 350 block of Roseland Terrace in Valparaiso, Indiana and raped him.

When the boy arrived at the home Saturday, April 9, 2011, he was threatened with a knife, handcuffed, and beaten and raped until Sunday, April 10th, said investigators.

Police were notified once the boy returned to his home.

Authorities searched the residence where the alleged female predators live and took them both into custody. The girls are being held at the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Porter County Prosecutor’s Office is trying to determine if the purported female offenders should be tried as adults. Based on the charges leveled against them, I think this one is a no-brainer.

The Post-Tribune:

"The 16-year-old is charged with criminal deviate conduct, a Class A felony; sexual battery and criminal confinement, both Class B felonies. The younger girl is charged with criminal confinement, a Class B felony; battery with a deadly weapon and intimidation, both Class C felonies.

If they were convicted and sentenced as adults, the older teen could face 20 to 50 years for the criminal deviate conduct charge alone. Plus, the state guidelines call for sentences of six to 20 years for Class B felonies."

While researching this story and reading the comments left on various news site, it appears that when it comes to rape, sex crimes against male victims aren't taken as seriously.

  1. ***Indiana, Texas & Florida would NOT be the states to f*** with. First time I've heard of girls doing this act. I bet they weren't expecting prison sentences from that one day of FUN for them. This is awful & how could U be so stupid to know there wouldn't be consequences for this? 20 to 50 years...Sounds painful!

  2. I can imagine a good attorney would get these girls off the hook, if it is indeed a 2 females word vs. 1 male's word case.

  3. I am generally a strong believer that cheaper and more effective means of dealing with juvenile offenders exist besides incarceration. However, in this case, I think what has been alleged is evil and vile and must be punished severely if the charges are true. Rape and other types of sexual assault are just as horrific when the genders and ages of the victims and perpetrators are reversed from what we typically see. Here’s my video about the case:

Even if they are not true, the process of sorting out the truth MUST err on the side of protecting the public. These girls need to stay locked up, and that’s saying a lot coming from a guy who sometimes takes flak from the public for standing up for teen rights. On this we must all agree: lock these kids up. Don’t throw away the key just yet, but bury it in a safe place. You won’t be needing it for a while.
