Occupants Flee Scene of Car Accident: North Lake Shore Drive

A one-car accident was reported on North Lake Shore Drive near the border of Chicago’s Uptown and Lakeview neighborhoods.
The incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of North Lake Shore Drive and West Irving Park Road; which is about 4000 North Lake Shore Drive and approximately 530 West Irving Park Road.
Multiple 911 callers reported the accident. According to police dispatch, some people said the crash occurred in the southbound lane, others claimed the incident happened in the northbound lane.
A witness said after the accident, three occupants exited the vehicle, began throwing drugs and drug paraphernalia from the car, and fled the scene.
One passenger in the wrecked vehicle was described as white man wearing blue jeans. He was last seen walking southbound on Broadway towards Halsted Street.

Shouldn't you take Clarendon to get to Halsted? It just doesn't make sense.
