Woman Attacked South of the Loop

A police officer called in an assault around 3:42 a.m., after a woman was beaten on the 1600 block of South Michigan Ave., on Chicago’s Near South Side.

After the attack, the woman managed to stop a CTA bus driver and ask for help. The CTA employee notified police.

The police officer who contacted dispatch and requested an ambulance, described the female battery victim as bruised and shaken. The officer also said the woman wasn’t wearing any shoes.

The incident occurred steps away from the condo apartments at 1601 S. Michigan Ave.
